China's government is reportedly set to soon allow leading domestic AI firms including Alibaba, ByteDance and DeepSeek to make limited purchases of Nvidia's H200 GPUs. Buyers would have to declare quantities and intended uses, with the overall scale expected to stay below roughly 200,000 units (Yahoo Finance, The Information, Bloomberg Law). The primary use is AI model training, while inference is to lean on domestic chips.
