UK law firm Garfield.Law Ltd (Garfield AI) has won a contested court case as the first firm built around AI at the core of its services, recovering an unpaid claim of £7,000. In a three-hour contested trial at Wandsworth County Court, where the defendant disputed the claim, Garfield's AI platform handled most of the document drafting and procedural guidance, with minimal involvement required from the user. According to reporting, it is the first instance worldwide of an AI-led law firm winning a contested trial.
