Spotify said it purged more than 75 million "spammy" tracks over the past year and rolled out new protections against AI-driven fraud, impersonation and mass-produced music, while leaving disclosure of AI use largely up to artists themselves. The moves, detailed in a September 25, 2025 announcement, amount to a two-pronged strategy: aggressively remove low-effort content while asking legitimate creators to voluntarily label their work.
