On July 9, 2026, the Federal Reserve Board created a "Productivity and Jobs" task force to study how AI affects productivity, jobs and monetary policy, naming Andreessen Horowitz (a16z) co-founder Marc Andreessen as one of its co-leaders. The task force's co-leaders also include Stanford University economics professor Charles I. Jones (currently on leave at Anthropic) and Microsoft Corp.
