Thinking Machines Lab, the AI startup founded by former OpenAI chief technology officer Mira Murati, has released Inkling, its first internally trained open-weights model, positioning it as the strongest openly available model to emerge from a U.S. lab. The company published the full weights under an Apache 2.0-style license, making them freely available for download, fine-tuning and local deployment via Hugging Face.
