Meta has begun a public preview of Muse Spark 1.1, its first pay-to-use AI model, undercutting rivals on price in a bid to pull developers and companies away from OpenAI and Anthropic. The model went live for developers on July 9, 2026, through the Meta Model API, an OpenAI SDK-compatible endpoint that Meta is positioning as a low-friction on-ramp for builders already working with competing tools.
