UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer on June 16, 2026 announced £1.3 billion (about $1.7 billion) of new investment into Britain's clean energy and AI projects at the G7 summit in Évian-les-Bains, France. Funded by French and Indian companies, the projects are expected to create more than 1,400 jobs, concentrated in cities including Manchester, Leeds and Birmingham.
