Hugging Face Says Fully Autonomous AI Agent Breached Its Internal Systems

Hugging Face, operator of the world's largest AI model repository, disclosed on July 16, 2026 that an autonomous AI agent system breached parts of its production infrastructure, accessing a limited set of internal datasets and multiple service credentials in what the company describes as an end-to-end machine-driven intrusion.
