Anthropic has introduced a dedicated screen reader mode in its Claude Code command-line tool, replacing the visual terminal interface with plain, linear text that assistive software such as VoiceOver and NVDA can reliably follow. The feature shipped in Claude Code 2.1.208, part of the tool's Week 29 update, and can be launched with a single flag: claude --ax-screen-reader.
