Microsoft AI announced on June 26, 2026 that it has made its in-house coding-focused model "MAI-Code-1-Flash" generally available (GA) for GitHub Copilot Business and Copilot Enterprise. Positioned as a small model optimized for everyday development work, it can plan, build, run and test end-to-end directly from Copilot Chat in VS Code.
