Alibaba on July 19 previewed Qwen3.8-Max, a 2.4-trillion-parameter model it says ranks among the world's most capable frontier systems, second only to Anthropic's Claude Fable 5. The preview version, unveiled at the World AI Conference (WAIC) in Shanghai, is available immediately through Alibaba's Token Plan subscription and its Qoder and QoderWork platforms, with a full open-weight release promised soon.
