The AI Futures Project (led by Daniel Kokotajlo and colleagues), known for the AI 2027 scenario, published its recommended scenario "AI 2040: Plan A" around July 9, 2026, proposing a "Citizen's Dividend" that unconditionally redistributes AI-generated wealth to U.S. citizens. In the model, the payout starts at roughly $45,000 per adult per year in 2032, rises to about $1 million by 2035, and reaches around $10 million by 2040.
