Vellum, a platform for building AI agents, launched "agent-to-agent" communication inside Slack on July 2, 2026, letting each user's personal AI assistant talk to and coordinate directly with other users' assistants. Each assistant retains its own user's history, preferences and context while splitting tasks, negotiating dates and gathering input from the team. Permissions stay isolated by default and are shared only when a specific task requires it.
