An open-source plugin called "ida-pro-mcp" that connects the industry-standard reverse engineering tool IDA Pro to AI agents such as Claude and Cursor through the Model Context Protocol (MCP) has been released, drawing attention among developers. The project, created by developer mrexodia, exposes IDA Pro features—decompile, disassemble, xref retrieval, variable renaming and debugging—over JSON-RPC so that AI agents can automatically carry out analysis tasks. It is distributed under the MIT license on GitHub.
