OpenAI has made its GPT-5.6 model family generally available, led by a flagship called Sol that the company says sharpens complex coding, science, cybersecurity and agentic workflows. The lineup, which also includes lower-cost Terra and fastest-and-cheapest Luna variants, opened in limited preview on June 26, 2026 and reached general availability on July 9, 2026, according to OpenAI's developer community announcement.
