Pembina to Build C$4.6B Gas Power Plant in Alberta to Supply a Data Center

Pembina Pipeline Corp. will advance a roughly C$4.6 billion (about $3.2 billion) gas-fired power plant in Alberta, Canada, to supply dedicated electricity to a major data center project. The site, in Sturgeon County northeast of Edmonton (the Industrial Heartland), will host the Greenlight Electricity Centre, a combined-cycle facility starting at around 900 MW and expandable in stages to as much as 1,800 MW. The partners are Pembina, Morgan Stanley Infrastructure Partners and Kineticor Asset Management, and the project has been cleared to move ahead.
