According to Sensor Tower's "State of AI Report 2026," OpenAI's ChatGPT saw its global AI assistant market share fall to 46.4% at the end of May 2026, dropping below 50% for the first time since its 2022 launch. Even so, its monthly active users (MAU) remain above 1.1 billion, keeping it the world's largest AI assistant.
