Skywork AI has open-sourced Matrix-3D, a generation framework that converts a single image or text prompt into large-scale, fully explorable 3D scenes by routing the process through panoramic video. The project, released alongside code, checkpoints and a technical report, aims to overcome a long-standing limitation of prior 3D scene generators: narrow viewing angles and boundary artifacts that made wide, 360-degree exploration difficult.
