OpenAI on July 9, 2026 began the general rollout of its new "GPT-5.6" model lineup and integrated its AI coding agent "Codex" into ChatGPT. According to the company's official announcement, the GPT-5.6 family comprises three models: the flagship Sol, the lower-cost, everyday-work Terra, and the fastest and cheapest Luna. The rollout has begun across ChatGPT, Codex and the OpenAI API, and will reach full availability within roughly 24 hours.
