Amazon.com Inc. and Alphabet Inc. have together raised C$22.5 billion (about US$15.8 billion) in Canadian dollar-denominated debt (maple bonds), earmarking the proceeds primarily for AI-related capital spending. Demand was strong enough that the offerings were absorbed even though the companies skipped investor calls.
