Five Eyes Warns Frontier AI Cyber Threat Is 'Months, Not Years' Away

Cybersecurity agencies of the Five Eyes alliance — the US, UK, Canada, Australia and New Zealand — issued a rare joint statement warning that frontier AI could gain the ability to cripple governments and companies with cyberattacks within "months, not years." At the same time, the rise of cheaper, high-performing models from China, Japan and Europe is rapidly eroding America's AI lead.
