A side-by-side experiment giving Anthropic's Claude Sonnet 5 and Claude Fable 5 an identical prompt to build a "cinematic 3D globe" as a single HTML file has become a talking point for illustrating when cheaper output can undercut quality. The task used real flight data covering 70 airports and 435 routes, and while Sonnet 5 completed the job for roughly $0.10 versus Fable 5's $0.77, the lower-cost result fell noticeably short on visual fidelity.
